The Black Caps bowling coach Shane Bond will be stepping down after the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
Bond has decided not to seek to renew his existing contract, which runs until the end of the tournament and will instead take up a job with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
He will serve as bowling coach, alongside the head coach, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting.
New Zealand Cricket's Head of Cricket Lindsay Crocker says they had been anxious to retain Bond's services and had offered him an extension.
Crocker says they're disappointed to be losing Bond, but respect his decision and wish him well in his endeavours post-world cup.
Crocker says the former fast bowler has given great value to the Black Caps programme and they were keen to have his input over the next few seasons.
The organisation will start advertising for the vacancy immediately.
