Fiji PM's FijiFirst party nominees announced

Fiji's Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, has announced his party's first batch of candidate nominees, which includes Paralympic gold medalist, Iliesa Delana.

Fiji Live reports Rear Admiral Frank Bainimarama as saying a large number of Fijians have applied to become candidates for FijiFirst.

He says the nominees have been chosen because they have commitment to the objectives, values and principles of the FijiFirst party.

Frank Bainimarama says the candidates bring credibility, and integrity and must bring about a cultural change to the manner in which politics is conducted in the country.

The nominees also include himself and eight other government ministers.

The candidates are: Nemani Tukubu Bainivalu, Inia Batikota Seruiratu, Dr. Mahendra Reddy, Alexander D. O'Conner, Rosy Sofia Akbar, Joseph Veramo, Teddy F. Fong, Timoci Lesi Natuva, Jone Usamate, Jimilai Wainibalagi, Iliesa Delana, Dr Jiko Fatafehi Luveni, Inoke Kubuabola, Viliame Naupoto, Neil Sharma, Lorna Eden, Osea Naiqamu, Mereseini Vuniwaqa, Alivereti Nabulivou, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Frank Bainimarama.
