Five people have died in a shooting in the Northern Mariana Islands in the north-west Pacific.
The online version of the Saipan Tribune reports a gunman killed four local people - two men and two children- on the main island of Saipan.
It says he then went to a tourist area and shot at a group of foreigners - mostly Koreans - wounding eight before killing himself.
The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is a chain of 14 islands which is self-governing, but linked to the United States.
