Sky Network Television has bought the outside broadcast operator OnSite Broadcasting for $13.5 million.
OnSite Broadcasting, which was owned by the Australian media company Prime Media Group, is contracted to provide all outside broadcast facilities for Sky.
Sky says it will market the company's services to other broadcasters and customers in conjunction with its own free-to-air station, Prime.
Shares in Sky Television rose 8c to $4.72 on Friday.
