England ended the fourth day on 37 for 2 in their second innings, a lead of 219.

The tourists were bowled out for 287 with half centuries from Kraigg Brathwaite, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase.

Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes took three wickets each.

England, who failed to enforce the follow-on, lost Jos Buttler and Zak Crawley cheaply as they tried to score quick runs, with Kemar Roach castling both batsmen.

West Indies have a 1-0 lead in the three-test series, which is being played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic, after winning the first test in Southampton.

The third test will also be played in Manchester.

Pensioners too good for United

Chelsea, who will face London rivals Arsenal in the August 1 showpiece, had lost to United three times this season but looked brighter from the start at Wembley and took control with goals either side of halftime from Olivier Giroud and Mason Mount.

United were forced into a change at 0-0 late in the first half when Eric Bailly was carried off after clashing heads with fellow defender Maguire. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought on Anthony Martial to create more attacking threat.

United scored a consolation goal when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 85th minute.

Yesterday Arsenal beat holders Manchester City 2-0.

Quartararo's victory was also the first for Petronas Yamaha as he finished ahead of Yamaha's Maverick Vinales and Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso, who came third just weeks after having surgery on a damaged left collarbone.

Jets get past Airs

Manawatu have beaten Taranaki 118-103 in a top of the table clash in the National Basketball League.

The Jets had won the previous meeting between the two teams (102-93) and benefitting from a dominant fourth quarter display they again proved too good for the Airs.

Hyrum Harris returned to the Jets team and was immediately reinstated to their starting five despite missing the previous six games with a hip injury. The move worked wonders with the swingman putting together a rare triple-double of 24 points (8/12FG), 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Otago, Manawatu and Taranaki all have 14 points, Auckland and Franklin 12, Nelson 8 and Canterbury 6.

LeBron card goes for big money

A rare LeBron James trading card sold for a whopping $2.7 million at an auction.

The sale nearly doubled the previous record for a modern-day card of $1.4 million set in May for a card of Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout.

Upper Deck produced only 23 copies of this particular card, which was signed by James during his 2003-04 rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The card was in "gem mint" condition with a 9.5 grade (out of 10), according to Beckett Publications.

The card was purchased by collector Leore Avidar, according to Darren Rovell of Action Network.

A 16-time All-Star and four-time Most Valuable Player, James is currently chasing his fourth NBA title and first as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The 35-year-old veteran ranks third in league history with 34,087 points.

Watford sack manager

English Premier League strugglers Watford have sacked manager Nigel Pearson with two games of the season remaining.

Pearson joined Watford in December, overseeing an uptick in form, but the club have struggled since the league restarted in June after an enforced suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Watford, who are 17th in the table on 34 points, three above the relegation zone, were beaten 3-1 at West Ham United at the weekend and end their league campaign with games against second-placed Manchester City and 10th-placed Arsenal.

Pearson's team have won two games since the restart, while also racking up four defeats and a draw.
