Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said officers spoke to a 36-year-old man parked at John Wilson Ocean Drive at 5pm yesterday, in breach of Level 4 restrictions.

It was then noticed he was sitting on a knife. Both the car and the driver were searched and two knives were found.

The man told police that he was a martial artist.

He was given a Covid educational talk and warned for the knives.

Earlier in the day at 11.40am, police were called to BP Mornington after a 21-year-old woman caused a scene by ripping off her mask and throwing displays around the store.

She was found outside her home, arrested and released with a warning.

The woman and and her 18-year-old female associate were both trespassed from BP.

Another woman, aged 36, was issued a Covid infringement notice after repeatedly refusing to wear a mask at Countdown Andersons Bay at 8.30am on Monday.

And at 5.39am today, police were called to St Clair Golf Course after a 41-year-old man in a Nissan Pulsar was seen parked outside talking to two other men in a car beside him.

The man told police he was out catching up with his two mates because he was bored at home.

The occupants of the other car said one was dropping the other at the golf course so his friend could take him to work at an auto wreckers.

"All parties were spoken to and educated about Alert Level 4 restrictions."

Meanwhile, police have narrowed down the source of several loud bangs heard in the Balmacewen area on Saturday night.

Dinnissen said several residents in the area had identified them as fireworks being set off from a property in Maori Hill.

"The persons responsible are asked to contact police to discuss the behaviour before we have to knock on their door.

"The Kaikorai Valley Community Officer is awaiting their call."
