15:05 pm on 23 July 2010

The chairman of the Waikato-Tainui executive, Tukoroirangi Morgan, says iwi need to mount a nationwide campaign over representation for Maori on the Auckland super-city and any other super-cities.

The Government has ruled out setting aside seats for Maori on the new Auckland council.

Mr Morgan says Maori fear the situation in Auckland will be repeated in other regions.

He says Maori have to make a stand and demand seats on the super-city council, and they are going to keep on fighting.
