Tuvalu is hosting a series of meetings this week to highlight the importance of climate change resilience.

Joining the hosts at the Coalition of Atoll Nations on Climate Change are Kiribati, Fiji, Tokelau and New Zealand.
The Prime Minister of Tuvalu, Enele Sosene Sopoaga, kicked off the two day workshop saying the atoll nations must work together to develop joint proposals for funding through the Green Climate Fund.
The Coalition is part of the Green Climate Fund and the focus of the workshop was to work out ways to improve access to the GCF funding, which is being made available under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
A leaders meeting is to be held after the workshop.
The Coalition of Atoll Nations on Climate Change (CANCC) was launched at the UN Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) Conference in Samoa in September 2014. CANCC consists of the five low-lying atoll states of Kiribati, Maldives, Republic of Marshall Islands, Tokelau and Tuvalu and was formed to highlight urgent action that must be taken to assist the most vulnerable countries in the world and their communities adapt to the impacts of climate change.)
