The police in Samoa have stopped investigating an assault complaint against the Minister of Broadcasting, Communication and Technology after the complaint was withdrawn.

The police spokesperson and assistant commissioner, Leaupepe Fatu Pula, says the matter has been resolved between the parties.

The minister, Tuisugaletaua Sofara Aveau, has told Le Weekender newspaper he, as well as the complainant, was drunk.

Leaupepe says the police appreciate the fact that it was a family matter which has been solved in a peaceful way.
