Wallabies suffer further setbacks ahead of Scotland and Wales tests

17:58 pm on 28 May 2012

The Wallabies captain and lock James Horwill and backline utility Kurtley Beale have both been ruled out of Australia's four June tests after being injured in the latest round of Super Rugby.

Horwill suffered a torn hamstring in the Queensland Reds' win over the ACT Brumbies.

That means he'll miss the one-off Test against Scotland and the following three tests against Wales.

Beale, who was expected to fill the first five role with James O'Connor already out injured, suffered a shoulder injury in the Melbourne Rebels loss to the Hurricanes and will also the four games.

It means Quade Cooper, who's only recently returned from knee re-construction surgery is likely to play.

David Pocock's expected to now captain the side in Horwill's absence.
