Woman charged with murder in Pukekohe hit-and-run case

A woman accused of killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run has been charged with murder.

Teri Rhind, 37, was hit by a vehicle on Wellington Street, Pukekohe, just before 3am on 18 October. He died three days later.

An investigation dubbed Operation Gain saw the public help police find the car allegedly involved in the incident.

"I would like to thank the public for coming forward with information," Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Taylor said.

"This information along with an extensive CCTV canvas across the Franklin area has resulted in the arrest of the woman today."

The 31-year-old accused was expected to appear in Manukau District Court on Wednesday, charged with Rhind's murder.

"The investigation continues, and we encourage anyone that hasn't been spoken to by Police yet, and has information about this tragic incident, to please come forward," Taylor said.
