Police have launched a homicide investigation after the death of a man in Hamilton last night.

Hamilton City Area Commander Inspector Andrea McBeth said emergency services were called to a home on Vernall Street, in the suburb of Nawton, just after 5pm.
A 37-year-old man was injured in an altercation and was unable to be revived.
Inspector Andrea McBeth said a guard was at the address overnight and the scene will be examined this week.
