Police are appealing for information about missing man Wayne Taylor after air and land searches failed to find him.
The 54-year-old was last seen on 20 February in Blenheim, and had been expected to drive to Christchurch, police said in a series of statements.
He was reported missing on 22 February, and his silver 2011 Mercedes-Benz station wagon was found on 23 February at a lookout north of Kaikōura.
Police later said a Mercedes SUV owned by Taylor was also seen at Te Ana Pouri Carpark, Rakautara, off State Highway north of Kaikōura, about 7pm on on 22 February.
"An extensive ground and aerial search has failed to locate Wayne, and his family are deeply concerned by his disappearance, which is out of character," police said.
"[We] are asking for anyone who might have information that could help us find him to please come forward."
Taylor was wearing dark blue jeans and a dark blue polo when he was last seen.
Anyone with information about his movements is asked to call 105.
