Loghman Sawari was forcibly deported from Fiji back to PNG in February and charged with supplying false information to obtain a passport.

On that charge, the 21-year-old from Iran appeared in court yesterday.

The judge adjourned the trial until April 18 and extended Mr Sawari's bail.

His lawyer Loani Henao said after leaving the court, Mr Sawari was surrounded by police and taken back into custody.

"At this stage I dont know what the charge or charges are. He has been responding very well to the bail conditions, so we're trying to get a bail application made before a magistrate so that he can be released on bail again," said Mr Henao.

Mr Henao saids when Loghman Sawari was arrested yesterday, his client had no idea why.
