A police investigation is under way after a critically injured man fell out of a vehicle in South Auckland on Tuesday evening.
Police said they were called to Bader Drive, near the intersection with Elmdon Street, in Māngere just before 6pm.
"Around this time, the man has reportedly fallen out of a vehicle travelling at low speed. This vehicle left the scene before police were contacted."
He remained in Auckland City Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The serious crash unit examined the scene and police were still trying to work out what happened.
"As part of this we have spoken with some witnesses and our enquiries continue."
Police wanted to hear from any witnesses.
