MBIE says about 60 percent of the complaints have been in the Auckland region.
It says when complaints are received, it contacts the business involved and reminds them of the rules.
Serious or repeat breaches of Covid-19 health orders can lead to imprisonment or a fine of up to $4000.
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 vaccination centre at the Crowne Plaza hotel in central Auckland has been named as a location of interest by the Ministry of Health today.
Speaking at today's media update - where it was confirmed there were 11 new community cases - Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said the Crowne Plaza Vaccination centre on 23 August was one of several new locations of interest, relating to the source of two unlinked cases.
The other locations of interest include Commonsense and Farro Fresh in Mt Eden, and the Federal St Car Park and the Hertz office in central Auckland.
