Fiji police officers have been given key appointments in the Regional Assistance Mission in the Solomon Islands.

Radio Fiji reports that Senior Superintendent Romanu Tikotikoca has been appointed provincial police commander in Honiara while Inspector Kitoko

Cagituivei has been given charge of police in the Western Province.

Inspector Jerome Kanimea has been appointed to head police traffic operations in Honiara while Acting Inspector Dominiko Valaibulu has been made the director of community policing.

Senior Superintendent Tikotikoca is quoted as saying it's a privilege for the Fiji officers to be given key appointments in RAMSI as it is a first for officers from regional countries serving in the Solomons.

Fiji also has police contingents serving in Kosovo and Liberia.
