PNG - football squad
A Papua New Guinea Football Association official says players named in the men's national team train-on-squad by head coach Harrison Kamake are subject for review.
The comments come after concerns were raised on how the selection for the 33-man squad was made, questioning fitness and injury status of certain players.
He said "we will observe all these players at the national camp coming up next week. Only then can we assess these players and make our best judgements to keep or exclude them,"
Technical directory Percy Mataio told The National they will observe all the players at next week's national camp and then assess who will continue in the squad.

Hockey - PNG squad
The Papua New Guinea Hockey Federation has announced a 40-member train-on squad for the Pacific Games in Honiara.
The squad consists of 20 male and 20 female athletes who were selected from the recent trials held in Port Moresby.

Rugby - smart ball
World Rugby will trial the first smart ball to help officials during the Under-20 World Cup in South Africa.
The technology, developed by Sportable and Gilbert, will track the exact position of the ball in 3D and in real-time up to 20 times a second, with beacons positioned around the pitch.
World Rugby say it will provide officials with "immediate feedback" on "every kick, pass and throw".
Factors the smart ball will help officials decided include forward passes, crooked throws at the lineout, tries grounded on the line and at which point touch is found from a kick.
The data from the ball will be fed to the television match official, who can feed back to the on-field referee.
