Consultancy AMR and international organisation the Reputation Institute released this year's survey on how New Zealanders rate businesses today.

Air New Zealand, Toyota and the Warehouse are in the top three - based on products, innovation, leadership and performance.

The survey shows people are impressed by the airline's cheaper fares, new planes, improved financial results and safety videos.

Other companies ranked highly include Z Energy, New Zealand Post and ASB Bank.
