China and Russia have ramped up the pressure against North Korea at talks in Moscow after it defied the UN by firing two short-range ballistic missiles into the sea.
The foreign ministers of Russia and China urged Pyongyang to resume talks over its nuclear weapons programme and heed a United Nations Security Council resolution that banned ballistic missile tests.
Former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's regime had a large stockpile of short-range missiles and his son's was continuing to develop long-range and intercontinental missiles.
