Opposition to reinstating corporal punishment in Samoa

A Supreme Court judge in Samoa has spoken out against an amendment to the Education Act which aims to reinstate corporal punishment in schools.

The country's ombudsman has also voiced his opposition.

And both are at a loss as to how or why the amendment has ended up before parliament.
