Doprah and Yumi Zouma: South Island acts Doprah and Yumi Zouma began their four-date tour last night in Christchurch, and they continue on with shows in Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington over the coming days. Joining them are emerging Auckland outfit SoccerPractise, who will definitely be worth getting in early for. Tickets are available online right here.

Average Rap Band: After wrapping up their recent Australian tour, Average Rap Band (Tom Scott and Lui Tuiasau) are back in New Zealand for shows in Auckland and Wellington over the weekend. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with their great new record, then head to Facebook for details on the shows.

Hamilton Music Month: The first of two nights celebrating Hamilton music is going down this Friday at The Meteor. The shows are being hosted by The Hum, a local radio station dedicated to promoting music from the Waikato, and acts include Everlasting Bonfire, Ghosts of Electricity, Bridge City Bitche$ and heaps more. Louie Knuxx: Auckland-based hip hop artist Louie Knuxx is taking his recently-released album Tiny Warm Hearts on a five-date tour of the country. Beginning this Saturday at the Darkroom, he’ll also be coming through Wellington, Auckland, New Plymouth and Raglan. The End of Now: Alphabethead, Trip Pony, Tracing Spheres and Being are hitting up Auckland this Friday for a show that promises the Kings Arms will be unlike you’ve ever seen it before. There’ll be “multiple party zones” and “multiple performance areas”, and the line-up also includes DJs Sal Valentine and Jindie. Details here

Racing: Formed out of the ashes of The Checks, Auckland rock ‘n’ roll band Racing are heading out on tour to celebrate the release of their new single Misbehaving. The four-piece play Friday night at Cabana in Napier and Saturday at Bodega in Wellington. Tickets are available in-store at Flying Out, or online via Under The Radar.
