Samoa's Ministry of Police is working with the country's two major mobile phone companies Bluesky and Digicel, to run a safety campaign against cyber crime.
The acting police commissioner, Fauono Talalelei Tapu, says the ministry is reconsidering the list of cyber crime offences to include stalking by way of communicating through the internet.
He says there are offenders serving jail sentences for stalking which often involved close family members.
There is also an increase in the number of cyber crime offences investigated by the police and mainly involve young people as a result of using cell phones
