The Vanuatu government looks likely to face another motion of no confidence, a little over a week since the last one was easily defeated.
The Daily Post newspaper reported the Speaker of Parliament, Esmon Sai, saying he had received a motion but was waiting on State Law to determine whether it was in order.
The paper reported that if it was in order the motion would be debated on Friday, two days after the closing of the current ordinary session of parliament.
Mr Salwai, who has been in power since early 2016, has already successfully withstood five motions of no confidence.
