It has been revealed that American Samoa Governor , Togiola Tulafono, was admitted to Straub Hospital last Thursday, a day after he was discharged from Tripler Army Medical Center.
Senator Tuaolo Fruean who visited the governor in Honolulu said Togiola was admitted to Straub after developing a fever and chills.
According to Tuaolo doctors at the trauma unit of Straub spent about an hour trying to treat the governor.
He said it was discovered that the governor was affected by bacteria and an MRI was to be done yesterday to fully determine his medical condition.
An MRI is a form of Xray for soft tissue which uses magnetic fields to produce an image transposed by computer.
Tuaolo went as far as saying that if the governor had not been rushed back to hospital his life could have been in danger.
The Governor's Office was not aware of the governor being hospitalized again. Chief of Staff Pati Faiai was surprised when told of Senator Tuaolo's comments. He said they have not received any word from Honolulu that the governor has been readmitted.
