Widespread problems within the culture and management of the Black Ferns rugby team - including body shaming, ghosting and favouritism - have been revealed in a scathing independent review.

The inquiry was undertaken after New Zealand's tour of Europe at the end of last year, which resulted in four losses.

There were also revelations by hooker Te Kura Ngata-Aerengamate that coach Glenn Moore had told her she didn't deserve to be on the team, and was picked "only to play the guitar".

While the review panel found comments like those weren't isolated, Moore has kept his job and New Zealand Rugby is not making a public apology to Ngata-Aerengamate, saying a restorative justice process is underway.

Rugby commentator and player Alice Soper spoke to Corin Dann.
