Firefighters near Dunedin are busy battling a number of grass fires.
While mopping up one fire at Waipori Falls, south of Dunedin, firefighters were alerted to smoke from a scrub fire on Taieri Ferry Road - about 25km to the east.
Two helicopters have been called to assist there.
Firefighters are also battling a scrub fire on Otago Peninsula which is encroaching on pine trees.
No houses are believed to be under threat at present.
