No Toyotas in New Zealand are part of the latest international airbag recall, the company says.
An extra 356,000 Toyota vehicles with Takata air bags have been recalled, bringing the total to more than 15 million worldwide.
There is concern the air bags could activate with too much force, potentially sending deadly metal shards into the passenger seat.
A Toyota spokeswoman said New Zealand was not believed to be affected.
However, the company had recalled nearly 13,000 of its RAV4 model cars because of seatbelt safety concerns.
About 3500 of those vehicles were imports, and Toyota would be using the Transport Agency's registration data, as well as its own database, to contact those owners.
