The search for a missing South Taranaki man is on hold while police review their next move.
Aaron Roigard disappeared more than a week ago and the police say extensive searches of two farms and along the coast near Opunake have found no sign of him.
The officer in charge of the investigation detective senior sergeant Blair Burnett, told Morning Report, Mr Roigard has been known to take off for short periods of time in a stressful situation but seven days is out of character.
Mr Burnett says Mr Roigard's partner, young son and baby are distraught and his parents are unable to eat or sleep.
A police spokesperson said Mr Roigard he had a disagreement with a family member before he went missing.
They would like to speak with the driver of a Holden Commodore seen on Waiteika Road about the time Mr Roigard vanished.
They are asking Opunake farmers to check their properties.
