Paraguay draw with Ivory Coast

The All Whites' final pool opponents in next month's World Cup, Paraguay, have drawn 2-2 with Ivory Coast in a friendly in France.

Chelsea star Didier Drogba scored the opener and the Elephants led 2-nil briefly before two late goals saw Paraguay share the spoils.

England failed to convince in a 2-1 victory over Japan in their final World Cup warm-up. Japan came to England's assistance with two own goals in the match, which was watched by the All Whites in Austria.

But Japan, whose coach Takeshi Okada offered to resign last week after defeat by South Korea, came away from the match with some credit, as they opened the scoring, and forced England's second-half keeper Joe Hart to make several good saves.

Frank Lampard missed from the penalty spot 11 minutes into the second half.

France were also held to a 1-1 draw by Tunisia in their penultimate match.

Off the field, South African security officials have moved swiftly to deny claims in a Sunday newspaper of a high risk of a terrorist attack during the World Cup.
