The Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Solomon Islands today begins its first hearings of ex-militants.
The hearing beginning this morning is being held in Malaita Province, and around 20 militants from the now defunct Malaita Eagle Force are expected to attend.
This will be the first ever opportunity the former militants have to make public their issues and also to have the chance to reconcile with anyone who may have been victimised by the their actions during the ethnic uprising in 2000.
