Some Auckland homes remain without power this morning after strong winds yesterday evening and through the night.

A Vector spokesperson said most of the outages were resolved last night but a small number were still to be reconnected.
Vector was sending out crews out at first light to reconnect the remaining homes.
The strong wind warning for Auckland and Northland has been lifted, and MetService gales in Wellington, parts of the Wairarapa, the Kaikōura Coast and Banks Peninsula were due to ease this morning.
