Nobody will be charged after a police officer shot and killed a man in an Auckland park last year.
David Cerven, 21, was shot in Myers Park in the central city in August.
He was being sought in relation to three robberies.
Police said at the time he claimed to be armed, and that he was fatally shot after twenty minutes of negotiations.
It was later revealed that he was not armed at all and no weapon was found at the scene.
In a statement today, police said they considered the actions of officers at the park were justified.
An investigation into police policies and procedures is still ongoing.
A separate investigation into the fatal shooting by the Independent Police Conduct Authority is also ongoing.
A spokesperson said it was progressing well but was unlikely to be released until the middle of the year.
