The government is expanding its Predator Free apprenticeship programme with another 25 people to be hired.

The two-year training programme is focused on increasing the number of skilled operators culling feral predators.
The Predator Free New Zealand Trust has taken on 48 apprentices since the scheme started late last year.
Conservation Minister Kiri Allan said more than $2m in additional funding will add another 25 people to the scheme.
She said the programme is a chance for more people to kick-start a career in conservation.
Allan said growing the workforce is vital if the country is going to become predator free by 2050.
