A survey by the umbrella body for New Zealand NGOs, the Council for International Development, shows they are facing tough financial headwinds.
More than half of the tens of millions of dollars provided to NGOs for their aid work in Pacific, Asian and African countries comes from the New Zealand public.
But the public are asking more questions about this aid and thinking more carefully about it, requiring the NGOs to take a new approach to their fund raising, as the executive director of the Council for International Development, Josie Pagani, told Don Wiseman
