Auckland Zoo says the birth of two Nepalese red pandas is a boost for the species.
The two cubs were born on 3 January and weighed about 100g at the time.
They have now opened their eyes and are moving about in the nest box.
The Zoo said the cubs, which are still to be named and sexed, will eventually be sent to another zoo contributing to an international breeding programme.
It said the births were positive for a global species management plan for the red panda.
