A 42-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a death in Hastings overnight.

Police were called to a house on Lumsden Road at about 2.30am after receiving a report of a critically injured man.
Emergency services administered CPR but the 30-year-old died at the scene.
The 42-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Hastings District Court tomorrow
