A woman has been flown to Wellington Hospital after she was seriously injured in a gang-related altercation in Masterton.
Police say they received reports of the fight about 5pm and about 20 people, some of them gang members, were at the Miriam Street property when they arrived.
Wellington Central Communications shift commander, Inspector Dave Rose, said the injured woman was in Wellington Hospital in intensive care.
Inspector Rose said Wairarapa police officers were still at the scene and specialist investigators from Wellington were also attending.
He would not confirm which gang or gangs were involved, and said no arrests had been made at this stage.
