Fiji's police commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho, says training cooperation with China will continue and he will visit the country soon.
A delegation from Beijing Police University is today wrapping up a three-day visit to Fiji's police headquarters in Laucala for talks.
Speaking on Sunday, Mr Qiliho said China had helped Fiji when relations with the West froze over its military coups.
"China played a leading role in offering us all of training when they didn't want to assist us so we've told them that we now have the opportunity to choose what we want and we will continue to engage with our true friends in China, so it is very important for us."
The Dean of Beijing College, Wangi Li, said on Sunday she hoped there would be more cooperation, including opportunities for Fiji police to visit China.
