More than 700 Jump scooters will be available for Aucklanders to use, from Mission Bay to Royal Oak.

Jump is owned by the United States transport company Uber, which launched the scooters in Wellington mid-last year.

The scooters are part of an 18-month trial in the capital, while Jump has been granted one of four licences from Auckland Council to operate until June.

The council withdrew licences for Lime and Wave branded-scooters last year.
