American Samoa signs up Hannemann as lobbyist

A former mayor of Honolulu has been hired by the American Samoan Government to lobby for it in Washington.

The government said Muliufi Hannemann will work on issues such as opposing minimum wage increases, airline cabotage rules and for developments at the Pago Pago Airport.

Mr Hannemann, a former athlete, made an unsuccessful bid for governor of Hawaii in 2014.
