Fears of another typhoon battering the Northern Marianas have been quelled as Guam's weather office confirms Man-Yi's forecast track is taking it out to sea.

Lead forecaster Michael Ziobro said the system was 400 kilometres south-west of Guam at 9am local time today.
Authorities in the Northern Marianas, still recovering from Yutu and Mangkhut, were preparing for another possible typhoon.
However Mr Ziobro said Man-Yi was moving quickly at 50 kilometres per hour in a north-west direction.
"At this time it looks like it's passing between Guam and Yap, and it's going over the ocean.
"It doesn't look like it's going to go directly over any land so it's passing between all the islands."
Man-Yi poses no threat though people in Guam and Yap can expect heavy rain with winds gusting to 65 kilometres an hour, Mr Ziobro added.
