Government revenues in the Northern Marianas have exceeded estimates by 11.4 percent.
Due to a booming tourism industry and aided by additional revenue streams from casino gaming, the CNMI's general fund revenue for fiscal year 2016 exceeded estimates by nearly $US21 million.
An audit report showed estimates were at almost $US183 million but the general fund received $US203 million.
The audit also noted that general fund expenditures exceeded appropriations by $US18 million mainly because of unanticipated expenditures.
