Seven people have been injured in a serious crash in rural Waikato this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 27 at the intersection with Maukoro Landing Road in Patetonga shortly after 12pm.
Police said seven people were injured in the crash between two cars, with one person suffering critical injuries and another receiving serious injuries.
They said the other five people had moderate to minor injuries.
The section of highway, between Mangatarata and Tahuna, has now reopened.
Police said inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.
