A single winner has won more than $42 million in tonight's Lotto powerball.

It is the second highest prize in the competition's history.
The winning ticket was sold in the town of Pokeno, in Waikato.
The highest Lotto prize was in November 2016 when a single ticket scooped more than $44m.
