Armed police have searched five homes linked to local Black Power gang members in Dunedin.
The search warrants on Thursday morning were issued in relation to aggravated robberies at the Regent Night 'n Day foodstore on 20 June and at a private property on Monday.
A 22-year-old man will appear in the Dunedin District Court next week charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Detective Sergeant Dave Nelson says a firearm has been recovered and items of interest located as a result of the search warrants.
Inquiries into the aggravated robberies are continuing, he says.
