Covid-19 case numbers in Fiji are still mounting and are likely much higher than reported.

The flow-on effects are dire, with people unable to work and put food on the table, and the impact on the poorest communities is massive.

On Wednesday, Fiji recorded 791 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths from the virus.

The death toll is now 42. UNICEF Pacific chief Sheldon Yett spoke to Corin Dann.
