The Samoa Observer reported that the Speaker of Parliament, Leaupepe Tole'afoa Fa'afisi, confirmed her services had been terminated last week.

Sifuiva was investigated last year after allegations of misappropriation of government funding, human resources issues and alleged abuse of government properties.

The complaint was lodged directly with the Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, who then ordered an audit investigation.

It is not clear if criminal charges will be laid.

Leaupepe said an announcement would be made soon regarding applications for the vacant post.
