Reports from New Caledonia say the president, Harold Martin, has been summoned by investigative judges over a land sale.

The Nouvelles caledoniennes says he is being questioned over the circumstances surrounding the reclassification of a plot of land in Paita, which was then sold for commercial development.

He was both the land owner and the mayor of Paita.
