A man has died in a forestry accident near Levin this morning.
The 20-year-old was felling a tree when it landed on top of him at about 6.45am at a property off State Highway 1 between Leving and Foxton.
The death is the tenth in the forestry industry this year following the deaths of two workers in seperate incidents in early December.
WorkSafe New Zealand, a stand-alone Crown agency launched on Monday responsible for reducing the death and injury toll in workplaces, has launched an investigation.
